Rockfest Raffle

Royal LePage and The Empire Theatre are teaming up for a fabulous event in support of Three Oaks Shelter & Services and our campaign for Second Stage Housing. Attendees of Rockfest will have the opportunity to purchase tickets on a raffle for 6 amazing prizes. Tickets cost $5 ea or a book of 5 tickets for $20.

Tickets will be available every night from July 25th-28th, only at Rockfest. So if you're attending a concert, look for one of the volunteers selling tickets throughout the venue.

We'd like to say a special thank you to the generous local companies who've donated the prizes: Casa Dea Estates, Tipper Financial, Harmony Music Plus, Trillium Woods Golf Course, The Cove, and Your Commission Today.

At their Canada Day celebrations on June 30th, members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 99, made a donation to our Second Stage Housing campaign, in the amount of $1,000. Campaign Launch at The Empire

On June 1st we launched our capital campaign for Second Stage Housing at The Empire Theatre. We had a host of presentations and announced that we have already raised half of our $1.3 million goal. Here are some pictures from the event.

Mark Rashotte and some of his agents from Royal LePage ProAlliance present a cheque for $24,173.26 which represents the final total raised from this year's Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. Congrats and Thanks!

Our Fund Developer, Julia Gosson, presents City Councillor, Pat Culhane, with flowers after Pat gave a touching recount of her experiences with Domestic Violence. The moving presentation received a standing ovation from the audience. Thank you Pat, for having the courage to be the voice for women living with abuse in our community.

Thanks to all the volunteers and participants who made Walk a Mile such a huge success. It was such a terrific day that raised lots of money and awareness for our agency and we could not have done any of it without you so congratulations on a job well done!

Thank you also to Connie Carson and her committee for the countless hours they spent planning this event, it's such an honour to work with committed individuals.

And of course a huge thanks to Mark Rashotte and Royal LePage ProAlliance for their corporate leadership, we appreciate everything you do for us and the community as a whole.

In total we had 112 walkers raise over $23,000!!!

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

International Women’s Day 2012 was a great success and we'd like to thank all those who participated in the march and who attended the viewing of the documentary on The Women of Zimbabwe. A round of applause to our colleagues on the organizing committee for a job well done.

Three Oaks Shelter and Services would also like to say a huge thank you to the CAW for their continued support of our agency. On March 8th, at the International Womens Day celebrations at Bridge St. United Church, officials from Local 830 made a generous donation of $2,000 to our programs. We're delighted to see that Three Oaks supporters, Connie Carson & Mark Rashotte, have received recognition from their peers across Canada. At an awards ceremony held recently in Toronto, they received awards from the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation for their work with our agency.
