Safe Shelter

Three Oaks offers residential service for women in transition, safety planning, individual and group counselling in the shelter, a 24 hour crisis line and court support. Women are assisted in seeking permanent housing and referred to appropriate community agencies. There is no charge for our service and all meals and basic necessities are provided. The shelter is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and women can access services by phone or in person.

Children's Shelter Service

Facilitates a program for children staying in the shelter and can provide support and referrals for children and their mothers. A playroom with toys and games is available for children's use during their stay.

Outreach Services

This program offers short term, goal oriented counselling for women in the community and former residents who have experienced abuse. This service is offered in Belleville, Trenton, Central Hastings and South Hastings. Group counselling is offered at each location.

Children's Counselling

The Child Witness Program provides early intervention to children who've witnessed violence against women so they may heal from the harmful of effects of witnessing violence. A mother's group is also offered, which enables mothers to support their children throughout the program.

Transitional Support Program

The transitional support program aims to assist women in building stable lives free of violence. The program may include safety planning, referrals, assistance in finding/maintaining housing, advocacy with other agencies including court support and follow up.

Training and Education Program

The training and education program offers public education awareness seminars around the issues of violence against women and presentations on the services of Three Oaks Foundation.

Volunteers

People wishing to volunteer may contact the Training and Education Coordinator. After completing the necessary application and screening process, training sessions are provided. Volunteer opportunities include providing childcare, driving, and fundraising. Our board of directors is also comprised of community volunteers.

Community Partnership

Three Oaks has representation on a variety of committees including the Quinte Coordinating Committee Against Violence, Dedicated Domestic Court, Quinte Victims Fund, Domestic Violence Assault Response Program, the Sexual Assault Centre and the Affordable Housing Action Network (AHAN).
